Lets put it this way: if someone caught onto you being a bit wierd and paying a little too much attention to them and judging a lot of what they do and muttering your theories to others, banding them together in a "witch-hunt", you'd find yourself in a spot of bother after, when person you fixated on gets you on your own and asks what your playing at being inappropriate towards them- see what im saying?

In regards to if you did spot an alien, how would you convince others without coming across like a mental person? You'd be maybe proud and clever in what you discovered but trying to get others to see something other than what it seems to be, would be very hard. You wouldcome across as living a very paranoid, unsociable life- even if you were right. You would have no chance of convincing others. People like things to simple, easy and normal.
Sad but true.

I think if aliens did exist, as Pelador said, they could be studying us for so many different reason. Maybe we are fascicnating because we are insane and yet function, or our biological habits are so different and diverse to theirs or its just something else to understand. Any number of reason could come about as to why aliens could be fascinated to study us.
